Location: Paducah, KY
Workshop Dates: 10/26/2010 - 10/28/2010

This 3-day event for all adult ability levels will focus on bringing your art to a new level--whether you are just starting out or have been painting for years.  You will see color and objects with a keener eye...and learn how to transfer that image to your canvas.  Participants will finish at least two landscape or still life paintings in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.  Emphasis will be on color mixing, brush handling, light and shadows, composition, temperature and values.  That's a lot for three days--but we'll fit it all in!
Barrett will demonstrate daily and she works one-on-one with each student---making sure you have FUN while you learn.
This workshop concludes with a farewell cookout and exhibition of works (voluntary).

Plein Air Painting in Tuscany
$2,595.00
Location: Il Chiostro - San Fedele
Workshop Dates: 5/23/2011 - 5/28/2011
Contact Person: Linda Mironti, Michael Mele

This eight-day plein air oil painting workshop is situated in the heart of beautiful and timeless Tuscany, near Radda and the delightful village of Vagliagli.  Not far from San Gimignano and Volterra, San Fedele offers the charm of vineyard vistas and olive groves, local wineries, and pittoresque hilltop village scenes, all set in the modernized comfort of a historic monastery.
Experienced instructor Barrett Edwards works closely with each individual, tailoring her instruction to the specific needs of each student, with emphasis on making it a fun experience.  She infuses artists of all levels* with her passion for painting, guiding students to create stronger compositions, learn or fine tune color mixing skills using a minimal palette, and capture the light-filled delights of the Chianti region.  This workshop is timed to coincide with the stunning spring flowers: poppies bursting across the hillsides--the region is alive with color.
This workshop fills quickly.

*Some minimal introductory work with oils - and a willingness to laugh-- is helpful.
